The legendary Paul Taylor Dance Company will grace the stage of Reynolds Performance Hall with modern dance at 7:30 p.m. today.
Called “one of America’s premier troupes” by PBS, Paul Taylor Dance Company began in 1954 and has toured in more than 520 cities in 62 countries.
The company was named after the brilliant choreographer Paul Taylor, who was awarded the National Medal of the Arts by Bill Clinton in 1993. Taylor now serves as the company’s artistic director.
Amanda Horton, director of UCA Public Appearances, was “thrilled to be able to engage and enrich our community with the resources of the Reynolds Performance Hall,” as she described the Paul Taylor Dance Company as one of the most highly respected and sought-after ensembles in the dance industry.
“They have amazing artistic choreography and some of the most talented performers in modern day dance,” Horton said.
The performance, which is made up of 16 dancers, explores issues such as war, spirituality, sexuality, morality and mortality. Watch the video below for a glimpse of what to expect.
