ArtsFest: Night of Literature

As part of ArtsFest, Conway’s annual celebration of the arts, Oxford American and UCA’s Toad Suck Review are teaming up with Hendrix College’s Aonian to bring you a night of literature.

The event, free and open to the public, will take place at 8 p.m. in the rooftop venue of Table Mesa Bistro, formerly Michelangelo’s.

Renowned writer Jay Jennings will read from his collection, “Escape Velocity: A Charles Portis Miscellany,” which was published through the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies in October 2012. There will be a subsequent book signing after the readings.

In addition to literature, the audience will get the opportunity to experience the music of the local band Frass. The audience is also invited to hang out and enjoy the cash bar, which will be open all night.

Literary journals and books by local authors will be available for purchase.
