Finding ‘happy place’ more important than anything else in life

Everyone likes to be happy. I’m pretty sure that’s one thing we all have in common.

When it comes to being happy in this world, you can’t depend on anyone else.

You’ve got to go out and find happiness for yourself.

The first thing you need to learn is that if things in life aren’t making you happy, then you need to let go of those things.

Life is too short and too precious to let your life be influenced by negative things or by people who bring you down.

I always try to surround myself with things that are positive and that bring me joy.

When you allow yourself to be surrounded by negativity, you’re never going to be truly happy.

That’s something you have to figure out for yourself, as I’ve had to learn.

If people look down on you for the things that make you happy, you don’t need those people.

Find people who like to do the same things as you, and let the positivity of that group influence your life.

When people judge you, there is one of two reasons why: they’re jealous because they see how happy you are, or they just don’t understand.

My grandmother used to tell me, “The people who matter don’t mind, and the people who mind don’t matter.”

I’ve honestly learned to live by these words. In relationships, if someone forces you to be someone you’re not or makes you do things that make you unhappy, you don’t need to be in that relationship – it’s not healthy.

If your significant other truly cares for you, that person is not going to try to change anything about you. Never change for anyone, and do what makes you happy.

If someone doesn’t understand, that’s just who you are.

If sitting at home by yourself reading a book and stuffing your face with your favorite snacks makes you happy, do it.

If going out and meeting people and making connections makes you happy, do your thing.

If you like to dance and act stupid and be loud, then go for it. Do you, because before anyone else, you need to take care of yourself.

That’s not to say that you should ruin others’ happiness to make yourself happy, but I’m sure you catch my flow.

Happiness comes from within, and it’s a feeling that you have to find on your own.

When you find it, you’ll know it, and don’t let it go.

The things that bring you happiness change as you grow older, but that happens to everyone.

Happiness comes differently for everyone, but as long as you’re not hurting others or bringing them down, I say do what makes you happy and live your life for you.

Sometimes you may not even need to be around others to be happy.

Being by yourself can bring happiness, help you find what you’re looking for or help you find what you’re missing.

Focusing on yourself without the influence of others can give you a better perspective on what will make you truly happy.

Alone time can be some of the best time you’ll ever have in your life. Taking time to smell the flowers or go for a walk brings such simple happiness.

Enjoy the small things in life. Take them all in, and never take them for granted.
