UPDATE: New YikYak Threat Investigated, “No Threat to Campus”

Sgt. Brad Moore of UCAPD confirmed that police were tipped off to another threat posted on the social media app Yik Yak around noon today.

The message came shortly after the university tested its crisis alert sirens. The sirens are usually tested on the first Wednesday of each month.

The threatening Yak read: “It might be a test now, but it won’t be tomorrow.”

Moore said the department immediately contacted Yik Yak, received a phone number and location that matched to a UCA student and are currently investigating the situation. Police were unable to release further information at time of publication.

“As of now, there is no threat to the university,” Moore said.

Yesterday, freshman Samuel Davies, 18, was arrested for a similar threat.
