A new university slogan and advertising campaign may be in UCA’s near future.
“Come to Life” and “Front and Center” were the two possible slogans presented at the Campus Talk meeting during X-period on Tuesday.
Representatives from the Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods marketing firm gave a short presentation explaining both of the prospective marketing campaigns. You can view slides from the presentation by clicking the following link: UCA Branding Campaign
Luis Gonzalez, the UCA account supervisor for CJRW, said that the two proposed slogans are inclusive of all students. Gonzalez explained that the current “You Belong” marketing campaign is focused on freshman recruitment.
Questionnaires concerning the new campaigns were handed out after the presentation to collect comments from faculty, staff and students.
CJRW gave the presentation again yesterday in the Wingo Hall Board Room.

During the administration update portion of the Campus Talk, President Tom Courtway addressed recent raises for football coaches. Courtway said he took full responsibility for the raises and that he approved them after talking with Athletic Director Brad Teague.
The raises were funded with money from The Purple Circle, a privately funded support group for UCA athletics.
Courtway said that the university needs to work on building a reserve for cost of living raises for all employees, but that it would take some time to accumulate the money.
Courtway also discussed the enrollment numbers released Friday. He said that while numbers are down slightly, the university met its budget.
“I think enrollment has stabilized,” Courtway said. “I think it’s going to go up.”
