The Student Activities Board announced on March 26 that pop singer Nick Jonas will be the performer for the annual spring concert on April 22.
Tickets for UCA students will cost $15 and will be sold starting April 2. For the public, tickets will cost $25 and will be sold starting April 4.
Director of Student Activities Kendra Regehr said SAB originally decided to organize a hip-hop performance, but the plans fell through.
According to an SAB tweet on March 19, because of the “lack of time and after exhausting all of [its]possible resources,” the organization was unable to schedule a hip-hop performance. SAB reassured students that it will look into bringing a hip-hop performer to UCA in the future.
She said Nick Jonas had tour dates that were able to fit in SAB’s schedule.
Regehr said students are asked each year through social media to take surveys on the artists they’d like to see at UCA. She said pop and hip-hop artists are the most popular among students.
She said SAB will spend approximately $125,000 in bringing Nick Jonas to campus.
Regehr said when researching performers to book, SAB primarily considers the cost and availability.
Tickets can be purchased at the Reynolds Box Office, at uca.edu/tickets and by calling 501-450-3265.
