A movie theater chain is planning to open its first Arkansas Movie Tavern location − a luxury theatre with bar and dining services − in Little Rock.
Marketing director Danny Digiacomo said the company plans for the Arkansas location to be next to the Outlets in Little Rock and for it to have 11 screens, each measuring at 4600 square feet, and electronic leather reclining chairs.
As part of the movie tavern experience Digiacomo said there will be reserved seating.
“It is a cinema eatery with full service in-theater dining and a bar that sells wine, beer and signature cocktails, “ Digiacomo said.
According to the movie tavern website, along with the various drinks and the traditional sell of popcorn and candy, there will be a variety of food options ranging from burgers to tacos.
“I think the movie tavern will be really cool. It seems like something new to do in Little Rock and I think the bar is a good idea. The dining will be interesting. I think it is a cool concept and it will be an interesting atmosphere,” UCA sophomore Michelle Briere said.
According to the website, moviegoers 16 and younger will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian age 21 or older.
Digiacomo said he expects the Little Rock theater to open sometime next year.
