The Student Center is overrun with animals for students to stuff and customize today during the Student Activities Board event, the Bear Mill.
The Bear Mill is going on today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center lounge 103. There will be multiple designs to choose from and numerous ways for students to make their bear special.
This “build-a-bear” event is free, like all other SAB events throughout the semester. It is a workshop where students will be able to make something, express their creativity, and take it home free of charge.
When asked about the Bear Mill, SAB Novelty Chair Tamelah Redden said that this is one of the most popular events.
“[It] starts at 11 and goes until supplies last, which isn’t very long. It’s a good event because it always has a big turnout, we always have it,” she said.
There are hundreds of bears, pandas, giraffes, tigers, lions and many other types of animals students could pick from and stuff.
Freshman Christian Madrid gave his opinion on the Bear Mill.
“I really liked this event, it was well organized and gave me the opportunity to make whatever little animal I wanted. It was really heartfelt the way you get to put as much stuffing as you want and then get to tie it and put a shirt on it. I made a really cute little panda bear. I hope to see more events like this in the future.”
