- Free printing in the SGA Office
Paying for printing is a pain, even with the $5 you’re given to print at Torreyson. If you don’t want to invest in your own printer, that printing money probably won’t last until the end of the semester. However, if you go to the Student Government Association office on the second floor of the Student Center, you can print for free.
- Massage chair in Student Health Center
Did you know UCA’s Student Health Center has a massage chair? UCA students, staff and faculty can use it for free. Imagine how nice it would be to relax in a massage chair after that grueling psychology test. The chair is located in the Student Health Center Suite 308. You can call the Student Wellness and Development Office at (501) 450-3133 to reserve your spot in the chair.
- SAB’s Sunday Night at the Movies
UCA’s Student Activities Board hosts a full calendar of events on campus. Several times a month, it shows movies in the Student Center Ballroom. Admission to the movies is free and SAB usually provides free drinks and popcorn or pizza. During March, it will show “Mockingjay: Part 1”, “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.”
- Host your own radio show
The motto for UCA’s radio station, KUCA The Bear 91.3, is, “By the students, for the students.” KUCA employs students and sets time aside for volunteer student radio shows. There’s an interest meeting at the beginning of every semester to sign up for show times. If you’re interested in a show right now, you can check out the station’s Facebook page or visit it in the Student Center basement.
- Free Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office products can be expensive, but many people consider them necessary for college. Fortunately for UCA students, we don’t have to pay for Microsoft Word because we have access to Microsoft 365 ProPlus. As a Mac user, I got Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook for free. You can get your free copy at ucabears.onthehub.com.
