SGA Election: Kelli Collins

In a new Q&A series, The Echo reporters ask Student Government Association candidates about their Spring 2016 campaigns. Elections will take place April 6-7 on Org Sync.

Q: Who are you and what are you running for?

My name is Kelli Collins and I am running for Sophomore Class President!

Q: Why did you decide to run for SGA?

I am currently on SGA and I love having opportunities to hear what the students want and need. I wanted to have this experience again to grow and help UCA become a better place.

Q: Why should UCA students elect you?

The students of UCA should elect me simply based on experience. They deserve to be heard and I can make that happen! I have served on SGA as a senator and on many boards including Campus Resources, Rules and Ethics, and University Committees. I have started a recycle campaign for UCA through SGA. I want their voices to be heard!

Q: Have you been in a leadership position before?

Yes, I have! In high school, I was captain of the Varsity Cheer Squad, captain of the Forensics and Debate Team, president for many clubs, and vice president for many clubs! I currently hold the title of Miss Greater Jacksonville in the Miss Arkansas Organization. I am also a wish granter for Make-A-Wish!

Q: What’s something unusual about you?

In 2016, I have volunteered over 400 hours.
