Q&A: SGA President Ashley Ross

Senior Ashley Ross was elected Student Government Association Executive President for the 2014-15 year last semester. This will be Ross’s third year on SGA.

Who or what inspired you to run for SGA President? 

“A former SGA President, Spencer Sims, was my inspiration.”

What does a day of ultimate relaxation look like to you? 

“Being out on the lake or laying in a hammock reading a book.”

Which other organizations or clubs are you involved in on campus besides SGA? 

“I am involved in SOS, Panhellenic Council, Alpha Sigma Alpha and I have been involved in Ideal leadership in the past.”

What are you looking forward to most as SGA president? 

“I most look forward to having the opportunity to get to know more students and hear their ideas for our campus.”

Do you have any hidden talents? 

“I play the piano.”

What has been one of your favorite memories of your college experience so far? 

“ One of my favorite memories of college was participating in Battle of the Halls as an SOSer.”

Who makes up your support system? 

“My support system is made up of my family in Hot Springs, my fiance, my sisters in Alpha Sig, and the SGA executive board members.”

Are you a dog or a cat person? 

“Dog person. I have three puppies.”

How has SGA impacted you so far? 

“SGA has overall made me a more confident person. I have developed better communication skills and I am blessed to have been surrounded by strong leaders because of SGA.”
