Marijuana bust convinces students to move out

Students Justin Brimer, 23, and Jiangyu Hao moved from their apartment in Stadium Park into another one after their roommate Rhett Rogers, 19, smoked marijuana in the apartment on Jan. 29.
Hao allowed UCAPD to search the apartment at 10:15 p.m. which had a strong smell of burnt marijuana.
Brimer told officers he saw Rogers and other people smoking marijuana earlier in the apartment.
No contraband was found.
Rodgers and other people showed up to the apartment later with “glassy eyes” and smelling like burnt marijuana, according to a police report.
Brimer and Hao moved out of the apartment with the permission of the Resident Coordinator.

Student found with marijuana

Student Rhett Rogers, 19, was arrested for possession of marijuana at 2:02 am on Jan. 28.
Rogers was found in his car weighing the marijuana on a WeighMax scale and packing it into a glass jar.
According to police reports, he was “just weighing it and about to head out.”
Rogers said the marijuana was his personal supply. Rogers has been on probation for possession charges since he was 18.
UCAPD confiscated a total of 1.65 ounces of marijuana.
Rogers was arrested and received a citation for possession of a controlled substance.

Intoxicated student found laying in pool of blood

Student Vicente Zamudio, 19, was transported to Conway Regional Medical Center at 12:45 am after he was found unconscious on Jan. 28.
Student Matthew Clevenger, 19, said he heard Zamudio fall from the third floor stairwell landing on the second floor of Conway Hall and found him unconscious. Zamudio’s face, head, arms and shirt were covered in blood and a strong odor of intoxicants came  from his body, according to a police report.
Student Jacob Barrett, 20, gave Zamudio emergency aid and was able to stop the bleeding. Zamudio had a wound in his upper lip and it appeared that he had urinated in his pants.
UCAPD asked Zamudio where he was and what year it was. He said he was in “the parking lot” and that the year was “1998.”
A cup of dark brown liquid, which smelled like rum, was found in his dorm room.
Zamudio was taken to Conway Regional Medical Center due to high intoxication.
